Prep a New Raised Bed
Starting new? Pick a place that is sunny for your raised bed. Next mix equal parts Miracle-Gro® Expand 'n Gro® Concentrated Planting Mix and water in a separate container. Once thoroughly mixed and expanded, add to the raised bed.
Prep an Existing Raised Bed
Refreshing your existing raised bed? Make sure that the raised bed garden is in a sunny area where it will get 6+ hours of sun. Before planting in an existing raised bed, spread a thin layer of Miracle-Gro® Refresh 1™ Soil Revitalizer over the old soil, then work it in.
Plant Your Bonnie Plants®
Follow the layout of your bundle’s design and place the potted plants on top of the soil. Working outward from the center, set aside a plant and dig a hole as deep and 2-3 times as wide as the pot. Remove the pot and place the plant in the hole. Gently backfill and firm the soil around the base until it is stable. Harvest Bonnie Plants® Sweet Basil often to promote bushiness and plant growth.
Water Your Plants
Immediately after planting, water the soil around the base of the plant, avoiding the leaves. Use a watering can or a soft spray setting of a garden hose wand attachment. Water until the soil is saturated to the depth of your finger. This soaks the roots, helps to level the soil around the plant’s base, and removes excess air pockets under the surface.
Feed Your Plants
One month after planting, mix the recommended rate (see Amount To Use Table on package) of Miracle-Gro® Shake 'N Feed® Tomato, Fruit & Vegetable Plant Food into the soil. This all-in-one particle contains kelp, earthworm castings, feather meal, and bone meal to nourish above and below the soil. Reapply every three months.
Feed Your Plants
If using Miracle-Gro® Performance Organics™ Edibles Plant Nutrition Granules, shake the recommended amount (see label for instructions) evenly over your raised bed soil, avoiding contact with the plant material, and work into the top 1-3 inches of soil. The mix of natural and organic ingredients is specially formulated for growing tomatoes, vegetables, herbs, and fruits. Apply the first dose after one month and for best results, reapply every 4-6 weeks.
